The CNC Welcomes Cuba’s New Ambassador to Canada

ANNOUNCEMENT: The Canadian Network on Cuba Welcomes Rodrigo Malmierca Díaz as Cuba’s New Ambassador to Canada

The Canadian Network on Cuba extends our heartfelt congratulations to Rodrigo Malmierca Díaz on his confirmation as the Cuban Ambassador to Canada.

Rodrigo Malmierca Díaz has held key positions, such as Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, and Permanent Representative of Cuba to the United Nations, and we know that he will play a great role in Canada as Ambassador.

The peoples of Canada have stood in solidarity with Cuba since the Revolution, and we will continue to refuse to follow or accept the cruel and unjust U.S. policy towards Cuba. We are working diligently to challenge and ultimately dismantle the criminal U.S. blockade, and demand and uphold respect for Cuba’s socialist system and its right to self-determination, free of imperialist interference.

The Canadian Network on Cuba is excited for the Ambassador’s arrival, and we look forward to working and cooperating closely with him to further strengthen the ties of friendship between our two countries, and promoting enhanced social, cultural, political, and economic relations between Canada and Cuba.

We send Ambassador Rodrigo Malmierca Díaz our best wishes as he assumes his new post!

In solidarity,

Samantha Hislop & Julio Fonseca
