Defense Attorney Discloses US Manipulation of Cuban Five case

HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 20 (ACN)  The defense attorney of Gerardo Hernandez, one of the five anti-terrorist fighters held in the US since 1998, disclosed illegalities committed by the US administration during the 2001 Miami trial that gave the five Cubans unfair and extremely long sentences.

Brazilian Arts Exhibit Pays tribute to Fidel Castro

HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 13 (ACN)  A collection of paintings by Brazilian artist Helder Becerra dedicated to Cuban Revolution leader Fidel Castro was displayed at Havana’s Friendship Center; the works were also presented during a cultural activity in a Havana neighborhood, dedicated to Fidel Castro’s 86th birthday and to Cuban anti-terrorist Fernando Gonzalez and Rene Gonzalez, who also celebrated their birthdays recently.

Wife of Cuban Antiterrorist to Regional Conference in Tijuana

HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 10 (ACN) Rosa Aurora Freijanes, wife of Cuban antiterrorist fighter Fernando Gonzalez, who is held in a US prison, will participate at the US-Mexico-Latin American Conference that will take place August 15-19, in the city of Tijuana, Lower California.

This year the Conference also invited US activist Cindy Sheehan, who has openly supported the cause of the five Cubans, who have been serving long sentences in the United States.

Iguazu Falls: Cuban 5 Should Be Released

Buenos Aires, Aug 7 (Prensa Latina) The claim of the release of five Cuban antiterrorist fighters unjustly held in the United States since 1998 reached until the Argentinian Iguazu Falls, considered today one of the new natural wonders of the world.

Members of the committee for the release of the Cuban Five and students of the Latin American School of Medicine (ELAM) in Cuba, from the Deldorado missionary town, raised their voice this time in the Garganta del Diablo (Devil's Throat), largest waterfall in the world by the volume of water.
