Join Vancouver Communities in Solidarity with Cuba (VCSC) to celebrate International Workers’ Day with a special evening of poetry, live Latin American music and Cuban feature film...

~ HASTA CIERTO PUNTO ~
~ UP TO A CERTAIN POINT ~

From the famed director of “Death of a Bureaucrat”, “The Last Supper”, and “Strawberry and Chocolate”, Tomas Gutierrez Alea brings this clever, self-reflexive satire about the battle of the sexes in contemporary Cuba. Released in 1983, it tells the story of Oscar, an educated, liberal filmmaker who, in doing research for a film about the social problem of 'Machismo' in Cuban society, falls for a female worker from the Havana docks.

With live music from:

MX KATRACHO, singing live Ranchera music from the soul of Latin America!

** The event will also include a special message from Javier Domokos, Cuban Consul General in Toronto via video conference
